Job Description:

 A non for profit organization engaged in support of vulnerable communities through its programmes for Orphan kind, Thirst Relief, Emergency Response, Healthcare and Feed Our World in various areas all over the country. Organization requires services of “Programme Officer (OrphanKind)”, duties of that position could be as under but not limited to these:

1.           Provide assistance to Manager Programmes for the preparation of proposals and work plan;

2.           Prepare OK monthly, quarterly and annual narrative reports and others reports as required;

3.           Responsible for outreach, identification of orphan children, provide facilitation in preparing documents required for admission in MAGs;

4.           Liaison and coordinate with District Administration, Line departments for smooth implementation of Orphankind programme;

5.           Keep close liaison and coordination with other like-minded organization and service providers of similar nature for establishment of referral mechanism at organization level;

6.           Supervise MAG Coordinator and field officers of Orphankind programme and will ensure that MAG, Hifz and Youth Hostel are functional as per agreed guidelines;

7.           Ensure that Child protection policy, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and OK Guidelines are in place and in practice at MAG/Hifz/Youth Hostel;

8.           Sensitize PCs, MAG Coordinators, Field Officer in needs of the children, issues related to children and their solutions. PO-OK will also assess staff capacity against job requirements and will provide recommendations to Programme Manager for further process;

9.           Supervise Coordinators in daily/routine activities of the MAG/Hifz Orphanage/Youth Hostel;

10.       Provide programme updates and information as and when required to senior management;

11.       Supervise and assist the assigned programme staff to ensure effective accomplishment of their job responsibilities;

12.       Establish and maintain effective working relationship with the program staff for planning and efficient implementation of projects activities and prepare progress reports in a timely manner;

13.       Organize periodical meetings with the concerned program staff for reviewing issues and performances related to the projects;

14.       Keep up to date and research the latest discourse around orphans’ welfare. Aim to evaluate and implement new theories in line with the development of Penny Appeal philosophy;

15.       Actively assist and participate in project events (meetings/workshops/trainings) etc;

16.       Ensure in time, professional and appropriate correspondence to all projects related enquiries;

17.       To be available for travel to all OrphanKind locations to ensure smooth running of activities and progress as required;

18.       Report regularly to Programme Manager about any significant issues/matters related to OrphanKind Program;

19.       Ensure compliance with Programme policies and procedures;

20.       Review narrative and financial reports and share feedback with Programme Manager;

21.       Outreach of OrphanKind Programme, coordination and liaise with other organizations;

22.       Other duties as assigned by the Programme Manager in the interest of the organization’s objectives.

Educational Requirement:

Master’s degree in social sciences or relevant field.

Certifications:

Child Protection & Child Psychology.

Required Experience:

More than 5 years experience in Child protection and managing different locations.

Travel Requirement:

Job requires 50% travel approximately to carry out assigned responsibilities within the coverage area (Islamabad, Sohawa, Muzaffarabad, Khanewal, Azad Kashmir-Chaksawari). Must be willing and able to travel.
