Job Description:

A non for profit organization engaged in support of vulnerable communities through its programmes for Orphan kind, Thirst Relief, Emergency Response, Healthcare and Feed Our World in various areas all over the country. Organization requires services of “Youth Hostel Coordinator”, duties of that position could be as under but not limited to these:

  • The role of the Youth Hostel Coordinator is to interact with Youth Hostel’s adolescent and provide guidelines, in accordance with those provided by the management and see that these guidelines are followed;
  • To provide educational support to Youth Hostel’s adolescent and collect their school reports for the review of management; 
  • To insure that the children are complying with proper hygienic procedures;
  • To be knowledgeable regarding the adolescent’s whereabouts at all times;
  • To administer appropriate approved discipline when necessary. (The adolescents are never to be struck or deprived of food);
  • To engage with adolescent and help them in understanding of their problems and their solutions;
  • To arrange meetings twice a month with Youth Hostel’s support staff to ensure smooth functioning of Youth Hostel;
  • To properly record minutes of every meeting with support staff and share it with the management;
  • To communicate with Supervisor regarding all issues of importance whether or not discussed in the meetings with support staff;
  • To file a written monthly report on the progress and functioning of Youth Hostel and submit to the Supervisor in first week of the following month;
  • To properly maintain and keep update all record of Youth Hostel’s adolescents, support staff and attending visitors at Youth Hostel.
  • To regularly supervise and monitor Youth Hostel in terms of their cleanliness and ensure a healthy, safe and peaceful environment;
  • To help in new admission of children at Youth Hostel, maintenance of their record and assist the Supervisor in related decisions;
  • To purchase groceries and other consumable items for Youth Hostel from the designated vendors and maintain proper record of invoices for submission to the finance department;
  • To ensure quality and quantity of food served to the Youth Hostel’s adolescents;
  • Keep a detailed written health record on all adolescents. This includes noting all medical and dental issues when the children are first admitted to Youth Hostel;
  • To manage petty cash expenses of Youth Hostel and provide summary with supporting invoices to the finance department;
  • Responsible for all administrative functions of Youth Hostel keeping informed the Supervisor;
  • To arrange recreational and educational visits to nearby places and also organize in-house healthy entertainment activities/games for the adolescents;
  • To prepare and submit report of any activity conducted at Youth Hostel with pictorial record;
  • Responsible to take children to the hospital for medical treatment when needed and be vigilant in terms of adolescent health issues;
  • To ensure availability of quality education (formal/religious) to all the adolescents in Youth Hostel;
  • To ensure proper security protocol are followed at Youth Hostel;
  • Work closely with Child Psychologist and identify teenager issues and refer these to the Psychologist;
  • Ensure implication of Child Psychologist’s recommendation at Youth Hostel;
  • Ensure applications of Youth Hostel policy and standard operating procedures (SOPs) at premises and residents;
  • Supervision of the Support Staff (Cook, Driver, Security Guard etc);
  • Any other responsibility assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Experience:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in managing schools/hostels or in similar capacity. Retired army JCO are preferred.
