Program Background Summary: Pakistan Reading Project (PRP) is five years USAID funded project starting June 2013 with the objective to support the provincial and regional departments of education (DoE) throughout Pakistan to improve reading skills of at least 1.3 million children in grade one and two. The goal will be supported by three interrelated components including improved classroom learning environment for reading, improve policies and systems for reading and community based support for reading in Pakistan. The anticipated results include 23,800 teachers in 23,800 public schools with improved skills in teaching reading, 3,649 scholarships for ADE and B.Ed. (Hons.) students, mobile bus libraries reaching out to 300 communities.
Job Overview/Summary
Under the Mobile Bus Library Program, PRP has provided mobile bus library services to selected locations/schools of Sindh and Islamabad. The objective of the mobile bus libraries includes access of students to reading material and implementation of programmatic activities. In connection to this, PRP is initiating a new MBL program for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in which selected schools and communities will be provided with reading facilities for early grade students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensure that all program activities are well administered and implemented in accordance with the work plan;
· Support Mobile Bus Library Facilitators in smooth implementation of MBL activities
· Maintain and update the data bank of MBL activities in assigned PRP provinces/regions for all kinds or monthly, quarterly and donor reporting with accuracy.
· Developing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports & matrix of all MBL activities and sharing with Technical Director – Supplementary Resource Development
· Record keeping and documentation of all events related with MBL.
· Supporting and ensuring routine logistical needs of all MBL activities in assigned province/regions in an effective manner.
· Conducting rigorous follow ups of MBL activities with school heads, teachers, students, parents and community members to ensure effective implementation of MBL activities to promote reading skills among students.
· Developing of follow up visit reports and sharing with TD - SRD.
· Developing success stories of MBL activities conducted in all provinces/regions.
· Visit to the schools on updates/support of the MBL activities
· Assisting in timely procurement of materials needed for MBL.
· To Coordinate and Follow-Up on the Ongoing MBL activities in ICT and Sindh. Prepare a quarterly report on their progress with student/teachers feedback along with pictorial evidence and success stories, if required.
· Training the MBL staff on data collection tools, reporting requirements, and on recording of Means of Verification (MoVs) on need base.
· Ensuring all procurements required for smooth implementation of MBL program on time.
· Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Other Internal and/or external contacts: Work within the Mobile Bus Library Department, in close collaboration with the MBL Facilitators and MBL Driver well as provide support to any other department as and when required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Minimum qualification: Bachelors in Social Science/Education (ADE or B.Ed. Hons Preferred).
Work Experiences
· Teaching experience (Minimum One Year) required for Early Grade Students (Grade-1 and Grade-2)
· Three to five years’ work experience in Program management or development programs, on projects with international donor funding
· Previous experience with INGOs or media groups in program management
Demonstrated Skills:
- Demonstrable understanding of project planning and management cycles
- Demonstrated monitoring and evaluation and implementation experience in media related projects
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and other relevant project management tools
Language and Computer Skills:
· Fluency in Urdu and English, spoken and written, is essential.
