| Job Description: |
- Supervise and support a team of RCM staff, including billers, coders, and collectors.
- Oversee accurate and timely submission of insurance claims for behavioral health services (inpatient, outpatient, telehealth, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with federal and state billing regulations (e.g., CMS, Medicaid, commercial payers).
- Review and resolve complex claim denials, rejections, and authorization issues.
- Monitor KPIs such as AR days, denial rates, and clean claim rates; develop action plans to address underperformance.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure documentation supports accurate billing.
- Train and mentor staff on behavioral health coding, payer policies, and system updates.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance in billing and coding.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices in revenue cycle management.
- Utilize EHR and billing systems to manage workflows and generate financial and operational reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4–5 years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience.
- Prior experience in behavioral health strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and payer requirements specific to behavioral health services (e.g., Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurers).
